Recognizes the Mississippi School of the Arts (MSA) in Brookhaven on its 15th anniversary and commends its achievements and awards of excellence.

MSA is a state-supported residential school for grades 11-12 offering no tuition (with $1,000 room and board fee) and specializing in Literary Arts, Vocal Music, Visual Arts, Theater, and Dance for artistically gifted students.

MSA earned numerous accolades including AdvancED Accreditation, Exemplary Arts School Designation (2017-2021), second-highest ACT average in Mississippi in 2018, and 97% college attendance rate.

Class of 2018 received $10.8 million in scholarship offers, and the school achieved 1.9% unemployment rate among alumni with students enrolled from 78 of 82 Mississippi counties.

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to MSA Executive Director Suzanne Hirsch, forwarded to the State Board of Education, and provided to the Capitol Press Corps.
