Commends and congratulates the St. Aloysius "Flashes" boys soccer team and Coach Scott Mathis for winning their second consecutive MAIS Division III State Soccer Championship on February 23, 2019.

St. Aloysius defeated Heritage Academy 2-0 in the championship game, with Ryan Theriot scoring two first-half goals and Goalkeeper Haden Luke recording seven saves and a shutout.

The team finished the season 17-1-1, went undefeated in its last 17 games, and compiled a 21-1-1 record over the last 23 games spanning two seasons, allowing only one goal in three playoff games.

Recognizes the 19-member roster including players Carson Collier, Ryan Theriot, Haden Luke, and others, along with Coach Scott Mathis, assistant coaches Pat Chambers and Thad Wade, and Athletic Director Mike Jones.

Resolution to be presented to Coach Mathis for the team, forwarded to St. Aloysius Principal Dr. Virgil Strickland and the Board of Trustees, and distributed to the Capitol Press Corps.
