Recognizes Mrs. Angela McKinnon, a fifth-grade teacher at Lewisburg Elementary School in DeSoto County, for receiving the 2018 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Notes that Mrs. McKinnon was among more than 140 teachers nationwide honored with this prestigious award for excellence in STEM education, administered by the National Science Foundation.

Highlights that her students have consistently scored 100% proficient and advanced on state science tests during her 26 years in education, with over 23 years teaching fifth-grade mathematics and science in DeSoto County.
