Recognizes Dr. Chris Duke of Ocean Springs as Mississippi's "Veterinarian of the Year" for 2019 by the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association

Dr. Duke began his veterinary career in Ocean Springs in 1983 and purchased Bienville Animal Hospital in May 1984, which he has operated for 35 years

Expanded the facility significantly in 1993 with 4,700 additional square feet, earning a Merit Award from Veterinary Economics magazine in 1995

Bienville Animal Medical Center now employs five full-time veterinarians and two part-time veterinarians with a total staff of 46, with Dr. Michael Dill serving as co-owner since 2005

Resolution directs presentation of the recognition to Dr. Duke and his family, the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association president, and the Capitol Press Corps
