Senator Nickey Browning of District 3 (Benton, Pontotoc, and Union Counties) announced he will not seek reelection after 24 years of service in the Mississippi Senate.

Browning was first elected to the Senate in 1996 and served on eight committees including Forestry (as Chair), Business and Financial Institutions, County Affairs, and Finance.

Senator Browning was recognized for expertise in county government, agency budgets, and the legislative budget process, and served on the Senate Rules Committee for many years.

The resolution commends Browning for his commitment to success, leadership, civility, courtesy, and fairness throughout his career as a husband, father, businessman, and community leader.

The resolution directs that it be presented to Senator Browning and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
