Renounces prohibition as state policy regarding possession of alcoholic beverages effective January 1, 2021, making it lawful to possess alcoholic beverages throughout the state unless otherwise prohibited by chapter.

Authorizes possession of beer, light spirit product, and light wine throughout the state by removing language that previously made such possession unlawful in counties that voted to prohibit these beverages.

Clarifies that legalization of possession does not authorize possession with intent to sell except as authorized under the alcoholic beverage control chapter.

Removes "possession" from prohibited activities in Section 67-1-9, while maintaining prohibitions on manufacture, sale, distribution, and transportation except as authorized by permit.

Effective July 1, 2020.
