MS HB1182

Increases the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training from thirteen (13) to fourteen (14) total members.

Reduces Governor-appointed members from six (6) to five (5), including reducing chief of police representatives from two (2) to one (1) and eliminating the requirement that one appointee be from a municipality with population under 5,000.

Adds two (2) new ex officio positions: the President of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police (or designee) and a chief of police appointed by the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police.

Adds the President of the Mississippi Constable Association (or designee) and the President of the Mississippi Campus Law Enforcement Officers Association (or designee) as ex officio members.

Updates gender-neutral language by replacing "chairman" with "chair" and "his" with "his or her" throughout the statute.
