Minimum starting salary (0 years experience) for entry-level teachers (Type A license) increased from $35,890 to $37,000, while Master's level teachers (Type AAAA) start at $41,608.

Increases minimum annual salary for assistant teachers in kindergarten through third grade: $15,000 for those with high school diploma/GED and $16,000 for those with college degree or higher, effective 2020-2021 school year and thereafter.

Maintains prohibition on districts reducing local supplement to any assistant teacher and requires continuation of mandatory training programs and accountability measures for assistant teachers.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
