MS HB1270

Adds a new category (paragraph 28) to Mississippi's Medicaid eligibility requirements to cover individuals under age 65 whose income does not exceed 133% of the federal poverty level, who are not pregnant, and who are not enrolled in Medicare.

Eligible individuals under the new paragraph will receive benchmark coverage or benchmark equivalent coverage as defined under the federal Social Security Act.

The Division of Medicaid will determine eligibility for individuals under this new category.

The bill is authorized under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2020.
