State Department of Education shall develop a central reporting system requiring school districts and charter schools to report all data mandated by federal law to the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights through the Civil Rights Data Collection

School districts and charter schools must submit required data to the state system no later than the final date of each Civil Rights Data Collection cycle

State Department of Education shall publish all reported data in a publicly accessible format on its website within 30 days after the reporting deadline

Existing expulsion reporting system provisions remain in place, maintaining confidentiality protections for student expulsion records available only to school officials upon request

Act takes effect July 1, 2020
