Eliminates the second conviction penalty tier (fine of $100-$500 and 30 days to 6 months jail time) for illegally carrying concealed weapons.

Makes a second or subsequent conviction punishable by 1-5 years confinement in the Department of Corrections (previously this was the third conviction penalty).

Maintains the first conviction penalty at $100-$500 fine or up to 6 months county jail time.

Keeps enhanced penalty of 1-10 years confinement for persons previously convicted of any felony who are convicted under this section.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
