Waives tuition and mandatory student fees for foster children, adopted children, and wards of the state attending Mississippi public community colleges or state institutions of higher learning.

Eligible students must maintain a 2.25 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale while enrolled and meet all entrance requirements.

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine need; tuition waiver is reduced if combined aid exceeds total cost of attendance.

Waiver eligibility limited to four years after high school graduation/GED, three years after first college enrollment, and maximum of 60 collegiate semester credit hours.

Department of Child Protection Services must report participation numbers annually to the legislature; community college and higher education boards must report graduation rates by January 1 each year.
