Amends Section 45-6-11, Mississippi Code of 1972 to authorize the Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training to consider military training when evaluating applicant qualifications for law enforcement officer positions.

Allows the board to issue certificates to applicants who complete military training equivalent in content and quality to state-approved law enforcement officer education and training programs, provided they pass required diagnostic testing and evaluation.

Adds "or military training" to existing language in subsection (6) that permits certification based on completion of programs in other jurisdictions.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
