Hancock County Board of Supervisors is authorized to allow the Sheriff to employ licensed and certified personnel to provide occupational health services and preventive primary care to county employees and eligible dependents.

Sheriff's medical staff may provide occupational health services to county employees and preventive/acute care services to county office employees and their insured dependents, subject to Board approval for dependent coverage expansion.

Sheriff is authorized to hire additional personnel, allocate office/medical space within county buildings, and expend funds from approved operating budget or county general budget to purchase equipment and supplies for the health program.

All health records maintained by the sheriff's medical personnel are protected under federal HIPAA regulations and exempt from public disclosure and Mississippi Public Records Act requirements, with occupational health records kept separate from employee and dependent health records.
