Allows retired members of the Public Employees' Retirement System to work full-time as teachers in school districts with critical teacher shortages (as designated by the State Department of Education) while drawing their full retirement allowance.

Permits qualifying retirees to work the complete number of normal working days for the teaching position and receive the full salary in effect for that position at the time of employment.

Limits this employment exception to a period not exceeding three years.

Requires employers to pay the full employer contribution on the retiree's compensation to the retirement board; the retiree does not earn additional creditable service.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
