Removes the cap of 35 licensed school nurses eligible to receive a $6,000 annual salary supplement for acquiring National Board Certification for School Nurses, Inc.

Licensed school nurses must submit certification documentation to the State Department of Education by October 15 to receive the full supplement in the current school year, or by February 15 to receive a prorated supplement beginning the second term.

The salary supplement is paid directly by the State Department of Education to local school districts in addition to minimum education program allotments.

School districts cannot reduce local supplements for employees receiving the state salary supplement, and an employee can receive only one $6,000 supplement regardless of holding multiple qualifying national certifications.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
