Amends Section 25-31-10, Mississippi Code of 1972, to add the Twenty-first Circuit Court District to the list of districts whose district attorneys may appoint two additional full-time criminal investigators for a total of three.

District attorneys in the First, Second, Fourth, Seventh, Nineteenth, and now Twenty-first Circuit Court Districts are authorized to appoint up to three full-time criminal investigators total.

Criminal investigator compensation capped at $59,500 per annum, with discretionary adjustments based on qualifications, education, and experience, plus travel and necessary expenses.

District attorneys and assistant district attorneys are prohibited from accepting private employment in any matter investigated by their criminal investigators.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
