Payment for durable medical equipment and medical supplies is calculated as the lesser of the provider's usual and customary charge or a fee from the statewide uniform fee schedule, with the schedule based on 100% of the Medicare DMEPOS Rural Fee Schedule effective January 1 of each year.

Durable medical equipment and medical supplies are exempted from the 5% across-the-board reduction in Medicaid provider reimbursement rates otherwise required under subsection (B).

Precertification of durable medical equipment and medical supplies remains required by the Division of Medicaid.

The Division of Medicaid may require durable medical equipment providers to obtain a surety bond in amounts and specifications established by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2020.
