Creates a Good Samaritan liability protection law for registered architects and professional engineers who voluntarily provide design services during declared national, state or local emergencies caused by earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, fires, explosions, collapses or similar catastrophic events

Protects architects and engineers from liability for personal injury, wrongful death, property damage or other losses arising from their acts, errors or omissions when services are provided without compensation (except expense reimbursement) at the request or with approval of public officials, law enforcement, public safety officials or building inspection officials

Applies only to voluntary services occurring during an emergency or within 90 days following the end of the emergency period, unless the Governor extends the timeframe through executive order

Does not provide immunity for wanton, willful or intentional misconduct

Takes effect July 1, 2020
