Increases the assessment paid by employers or insurance carriers for each compensable employee death from $300 (or $500 with no dependency) to a flat $1,000, to be deposited into the Second Injury Trust Fund.

Raises the fund balance threshold for suspending contributions from $350,000 to $750,000, and resumes contributions when the fund balance falls below $400,000 (previously $150,000).

Standardizes the death assessment to a single $1,000 amount regardless of dependency status, eliminating the previous two-tier payment structure.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
