House Bill 37 - Mississippi Sound Money Tax Removal Act

• Exempts sales of "precious metals bullion" from Mississippi sales taxation, effective July 1, 2020.

• Defines "precious metals bullion" as coins, bars, or rounds made primarily of refined gold, silver, or other precious metals that are either marked/valued by weight and purity or minted by a government authority.

• Amends Section 27-65-111, Mississippi Code of 1972, by adding the exemption as subsection (aaa) to the existing list of sales tax exemptions.

• Does not affect tax claims, assessments, or enforcement actions for taxes accrued before the effective date.
