Amends Section 97-37-30 of Mississippi Code to add a new felony offense for willfully discharging a firearm near any business or property containing flammable or explosive petroleum products.

Felony violation is punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment up to 5 years in the Department of Corrections.

Maintains existing misdemeanor offense for discharging a firearm toward another's dwelling causing property damage, punishable by up to $1,000 fine and/or up to 12 months in county jail.

Updates gender-specific language in statute from "his" to "his or her" for both misdemeanor and felony provisions.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
