MS HB628

Amends Mississippi Code Section 21-17-5 to restrict municipal governing authorities from regulating medical facilities, hospitals, clinics, or other health care facilities in ways that restrict free speech or other fundamental rights in the immediate vicinity of such facilities.

Requires prior legislative approval before municipalities can regulate, directly or indirectly, any medical or health care facility regarding fundamental rights exercise near the facility.

Adds subsection (i) to existing list of prohibited municipal actions without prior legislative authorization, alongside restrictions on tax levies, bonds, elections, annexation, and rent control.

Takes effect upon passage.
