Amends Section 47-7-47 of the Mississippi Code to clarify that courts may order veterans placed on probation or earned probation to receive treatment for emotional, mental, or drug-related problems as a condition of their probation.

Allows courts to order probationers to receive treatment at private or public agencies or institutions, either within or outside the state, that specifically treat veterans with emotional, mental, or drug-related issues.

Treatment time served at such facilities may be counted toward meeting the criteria for earned probation eligibility under existing law.

Effective July 1, 2020.
