Amends Section 27-7-83 of the Mississippi Code to authorize the State Auditor and his employees to examine tax returns necessary for auditing benefits administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Extends the same confidentiality prohibitions that apply to the Department of Revenue to the State Auditor and his employees regarding tax return information.

Allows the State Auditor to access tax returns only to the extent necessary for auditing federal benefits programs, not for general revenue auditing purposes.

Takes effect upon passage.
