Authorizes the Mississippi Board of Nursing to assess licensees for reasonable investigation and disciplinary proceeding costs, capped at $2,500.00, as a penalty option alongside existing disciplinary measures.

Costs that may be assessed include process service, court reporters, expert witnesses, investigators, and other related expenses incurred during revocation, suspension, or restriction proceedings.

Grants the Board of Nursing authority to institute and maintain collection proceedings in chancery court of the county where board offices are located to enforce payment of assessed costs.

Directs collected cost revenues to be deposited to the Board's special fund to reimburse existing current year appropriated budget.

Effective July 1, 2020.
