Celebrates March 22, 2020, as the 36th anniversary of Mississippi's ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment (which the state ratified on March 22, 1984).

Celebrates August 26, 2020, as the 100th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment being added to the United States Constitution, granting women the right to vote.

Acknowledges that Mississippi initially rejected the amendment in March 1920 and was one of only 10 states that declined initial ratification.

Honors Mississippi women's suffrage leaders including Nellie Nugent Somerville, Belle Kearney, Lily Wilkinson Thompson, and Pauline Orr who advocated for voting rights.

Reaffirms Mississippi's commitment to empowering and uplifting women's voices and urges citizens to reflect on those who fought for women's suffrage.
