Recognizes and commends Madison County Sheriff Deputy Brad Sullivan for his heroism while in the line of duty after being shot in the head on September 5, 2019.

Deputy Sullivan was shot during a high-speed pursuit in Madison County when a suspect fired multiple shots from a fully automatic weapon at pursuing officers.

Sullivan, a Winston County native and 2006 graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy, was transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition.

Acknowledges Sullivan's dedication to law enforcement and his commitment to protecting his community despite the inherent risks of his job.

Extends sincere wishes for Sullivan's continued success during his recovery and future endeavors, with copies to be provided to Sullivan and the Capitol Press Corps.
