Mourns the death of Honorable Judge Houston J. Patton, who passed away on January 13, 2020, and expresses deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Commends Judge Patton's 26-year tenure as Hinds County Senior Court Judge from 1989 to 2015 and his legal career spanning from 1973 to 2015.

Recognizes Judge Patton's contributions to his community including management of the Youth Detention Center, mentoring young men, and service with civic organizations including The Mississippi Bar Association and Magnolia Bar Association.

Honors his educational achievements including a bachelor's degree from Fresno State University in 1962 and law degree from Southern University Law School in 1972, as well as his military service in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959.

Directs the legislature to furnish copies of this resolution to Judge Patton's family and the Capitol Press Corps.
