MS SB2015

Amends Mississippi Code sections 37-151-103 and 37-9-39 to authorize school districts to choose between monthly or semimonthly payroll processing for licensed and nonlicensed employees at the discretion of the local school board.

Requires all payroll payments to be made through direct deposit of net pay for school district employees.

Mandates salaries or wages be paid at a minimum on a monthly basis, with December payments due by the last working day.

Employees who fail to complete their contractual obligation and receive overpayment become liable to the school board for the excess amount plus interest at the current Stafford Loan rate.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
