Defines "open-box item" as merchandise returned by a customer, inspected and found to be in working order, then resold at a discount rather than returned to the manufacturer.

Requires retailers offering open-box items at a discount to provide prominent notice that defective open-box items are not eligible for exchange with full-price non-discounted items.

Specifies the required notice must be in black letters with each letter at least one (1) inch in height.

Makes failure to comply with the open-box notice requirement an unfair or deceptive trade practice under Mississippi consumer protection law.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
