Requires all centerfire pistol and rifle cartridges sold in Mississippi to bear a unique identifying mark or serial number on the casing.

Mandates ammunition sellers maintain records of the serial numbers or unique identifying marks of cartridges sold to purchasers.

Requires sellers to retain ammunition sales records for a minimum of five years from the date of sale.

Establishes penalties of up to $5,000 in fines and/or up to five years imprisonment in the Department of Corrections for violations.

Effective date: October 1, 2020.
