Amends Section 47-5-198 of Mississippi Code to revise penalties for bringing or possessing controlled substances in state correctional facilities, county jails, municipal jails, or other jails.

Reduces penalty for general possession or bringing controlled substances into a facility to imprisonment for no more than one year, a fine of no more than $5,000, or both.

Maintains separate offense for facility keepers, officers, and employees who knowingly permit controlled substances to be sold, possessed, or used in violation of law.

Establishes penalty of $25,000 fine and imprisonment for 3-7 years for selling controlled substances in any correctional or jail facility, with no eligibility for probation, parole, suspension, earned time, or other sentence reduction.

Effective July 1, 2020.
