Amends Mississippi Code Section 21-23-7 to authorize municipal judges to hold court for any purpose at the designated municipal detention facility that houses municipal inmates.

Municipal judges retain existing authority to hold court outside municipality boundaries within a 60-mile radius for preliminary matters and criminal proceedings, and within a one-mile radius for other purposes.

The new detention facility exception allows court proceedings to occur at the facility without the one-mile radius limitation that otherwise applies to out-of-municipality court locations.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
