Removes the authority of landowners to claim tax sale overbids (amounts paid above taxes and costs due).

Directs tax collectors to report excess amounts from tax sales to the chancery clerk for deposit into the county treasury.

Retains all overbid amounts within the county if the property is redeemed or title is defeated for any reason.

Eliminates the previous provision allowing landowners to request payment of excess funds within two years of the redemption period expiration.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
