Replaces the International Association of Assessing Officers certificate requirement with a valid certificate from the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service as the basic qualification for tax assessors to receive a $1,500 annual salary supplement.

Maintains existing higher salary supplements of $6,500 annually for assessors with state certified Residential Appraiser (RA) or Timberland Appraiser (TA) licenses, or International Association of Assessing Officers designations (CMS, PPS, or RES).

Maintains existing highest salary supplement of $8,500 annually for assessors with Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE) designation from International Association of Assessing Officers or state certified General Real Estate Appraiser (GA) license.

All salary supplements become effective the next fiscal year after completion of the required certification or licensure.

Takes effect July 1, 2020.
