Senate Bill 2428 Summary

• Legalizes manufacture and sale of "light spirit products" (beverages with no more than 4% alcohol by weight containing distilled spirits) and regulates them the same as beer and light wine under Mississippi law

• Adds light spirit products to all existing beer and light wine regulations throughout the state code, including manufacturing permits, wholesale/retail licensing, taxation at 42.68 cents per gallon, and excise tax requirements

• Expands voting and local option provisions to include light spirit products alongside beer and light wine in county and municipal elections regarding legalization of these beverages
