Amends Section 11-1-1 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to add chief of police and sheriff to the list of officers authorized to administer oaths and certify affidavits.

Authorized officers may administer oaths and take affidavits in court proceedings, under state law, for depositions, and for perpetuation of testimony as provided in Section 13-1-57.

Effective July 1, 2020.
