Adds "community schools" to the definition of "innovation" under the Mississippi districts of innovation law, defining them as traditional public schools partnering with community-based organizations to coordinate academic, social, physical health and mental health services.

Establishes four required components for community schools: integrated student supports coordinated by a community school director; expanded and enriched learning time and opportunities; active family and community engagement; and collaborative leadership and practices.

Provides low-performing schools or school districts transitioning to the community school model a three-year grace period before becoming eligible for state takeover under Section 37-17-13.

Adds student attendance rates, chronic absenteeism reduction, and suspension/expulsion rate decreases as acceptable goals for districts of innovation.

Authorizes community schools within districts of innovation to seek and accept gifts, grants, donations and funds from federal and state agencies, private foundations, organizations, or individuals.
