Requires local school boards to designate a period of reflection at the beginning of each school day in which students and staff may voluntarily gather for nonsectarian, nonproselytizing prayer.

Changes the period of reflection from optional ("may authorize") to mandatory ("shall designate") for all local school boards.

Specifies the period of reflection is not intended to be conducted as a religious service or exercise but rather as an opportunity for reflection comporting with existing authority under Sections 37-13-4 and 37-13-4.1.

Effective July 1, 2020.
