MS SB2704

Removes the requirement that domestic violence shelters match state grants with local funds equal to at least 25% of the state grant amount.

Allows domestic violence shelters to accept gifts, trusts, bequests, grants, endowments, federal funds, and other special source funds in addition to state funding.

Maintains the cap on state grants at One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) adjusted annually for inflation using the Consumer Price Index based on 1983 baseline.

Renumbers subsections (5) through (9) to (4) through (8) to reflect removal of the matching funds requirement.

Effective date: July 1, 2020.
