Prohibits use of haul seine nets for taking fish in marine waters within one-half mile of the shoreline of Cat Island.

Defines "like contrivances" as any net similar in form, function, purpose or use to a gill net, trammel net, or entanglement net.

Exempts cast nets, brill nets, and hand seines from the restrictions in the section.

Changes the term "fish" to "finfish" in existing statute Section 49-15-78.

Violations are punishable under the penalties provided in Section 49-15-100, Mississippi Code of 1972.
