Amends Mississippi Code Section 41-29-139 to establish specific penalties for simple possession of methamphetamine based on quantity and dosage units.

For one gram or less (or five dosage units or less) of methamphetamine: first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $250-$500 or up to 30 days in county jail; second or subsequent offense within five years is a fine up to $1,000 and 5-6 months in county jail, with court-ordered substance-abuse evaluation discretionary.

For more than one gram but less than two grams (or five to ten dosage units): imprisonment up to five years or fine up to $50,000, or both.

For two or more grams but less than ten grams (or ten to twenty dosage units): imprisonment up to eight years or fine up to $250,000, or both.

For ten or more grams but less than thirty grams (or twenty to forty dosage units): imprisonment of three to twenty years or fine up to $500,000, or both; takes effect July 1, 2020.
