MS SB2849

Authorizes county boards of supervisors to pay salaries every two weeks (in addition to existing monthly and semimonthly options) for tax assessors, collectors, prosecuting attorneys, supervisors, county auditors, deputy chancery clerks, sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, and justice court judges.

Amends Sections 25-3-3, 25-3-17, 25-3-19, 25-3-29, and 25-3-36 of Mississippi Code to add biweekly pay option, which requires board resolution adopted and entered in meeting minutes.

Maintains existing salary amounts and payment schedules while providing flexibility for counties to adopt every-two-weeks pay cycles.

Requires that if a pay date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, salary payments must be made on the immediately preceding workday.

Takes effect upon passage.
