Amends Chapter 878, Local and Private Laws of 1990, which created the Hattiesburg Tourism Commission and authorized a tax on hotel and motel gross proceeds from overnight room rentals.

Corrects multiple references throughout the statute from "county" to "city" and from "board of supervisors" to "governing authorities" to accurately reflect that the commission operates within the City of Hattiesburg.

Authorizes the City of Hattiesburg governing authorities to levy up to 2% tax on gross proceeds from overnight room rentals (excluding food, telephone, laundry, and beverage charges) to fund the Tourism Commission.

Establishes a seven-member Tourism Commission appointed by the mayor and ratified by city council, consisting of two hotel/motel industry members, one Chamber of Commerce or Economic Development Foundation representative, one University of Southern Mississippi representative, and three at-large members.

Extends the repeal date of the act from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2022.
