Pays tribute to Dr. William Briggs Hopson, Jr., a Vicksburg physician who died on June 20, 2020, at age 82, after 50 years of medical service in Mississippi.

Recognizes Dr. Hopson's leadership roles including State Trauma Director, State Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services for 27 years, President of the Mississippi State Medical Association (1999-2000), and chairman of the Mississippi State Board of Health.

Honors his contributions to trauma medicine, including representing the American College of Surgeons for over 25 years, creating Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) guidelines, and establishing trauma center levels throughout Mississippi.

Acknowledges his extensive community involvement including chairing the Miss Mississippi Organization for over 25 years, serving as University of Mississippi Alumni Association President (2001-2003), and active membership in Crawford Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Dr. Hopson's family and forwarded to the Mississippi State Medical Association and Miss Mississippi Pageant Board of Directors.
