Recognizes Richard H. McNeel of Jackson, Mississippi, as the 2020 Mississippi State University Alumnus of the Year for the College of Architecture, Art and Design.

McNeel has practiced architecture for four decades and is licensed by the American Institute of Architects; he serves as President of Jackson-based JBHM Architecture and has been named a Top Mississippi CEO by the Mississippi Business Journal.

He was the first Mississippi architect to receive the President's Medal for Distinguished Service from the National Council of Architectural Registration Board and spent 13 years helping develop the national architect's exam.

McNeel earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture from Mississippi State University in 1979, was selected as an Alumni Fellow in 1990, and currently chairs the School of Architecture Advisory Council and has served multiple terms on the MSU Foundation Board.

The Mississippi Senate extends congratulations to McNeel and directs the resolution be presented to him, forwarded to the Mississippi State University Alumni Association, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
