Eliminates end-of-course subject area tests and all statewide assessments beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, replacing them with a single uniform basic skills test administered only in Grades 3, 8, and 11

The single basic skills test in each grade must assess all basic skills and content required by the State Department of Education, including reading, writing, and mathematics

Third grade reading assessments required under the Literacy-Based Promotion Act must be conducted as part of the Grade 3 basic skills test rather than as separate assessments

Students in High School Equivalency Diploma Option programs are not required to take the Grade 11 basic skills test

Aligns curriculum requirements, dual enrollment programs, and career track graduation standards to reference the new Grade 11 basic skills test instead of former end-of-course subject area tests
