Authorizes issuance of distinctive motor vehicle license plates to honorably discharged veterans who served in Operation Desert Storm or Operation Desert Shield, effective July 1, 2021

Requires an additional annual fee of $30.00 for the distinctive license tags, which is in addition to standard road and bridge privilege taxes, ad valorem taxes, and registration fees

Fee distribution: $24.00 to Mississippi Veterans Affairs for indigent veterans and state veterans homes/cemeteries; $2.00 to State Highway Fund; $1.00 to Mississippi Burn Care Fund; $1.00 to special fund under Section 27-19-44.2; $2.00 retained by county tax collector

Applicants must provide written proof of service such as DD-214 form, military discharge document, or certification from Mississippi Veterans Affairs

Replacement tags for lost or stolen plates cost $10.00, with 5% retained by the county tax collector
