HB 1109 - Mississippi Minimum Wage Act

• Establishes state minimum wage at $10.00 per hour for most employees, effective July 1, 2021.

• Prohibits counties and municipalities from establishing local minimum wage, living wage, or mandatory vacation/sick leave requirements that exceed state standards to ensure economic consistency.

• Brings forward nine existing Mississippi Code sections (including education leave policies, State Auditor internships, and wage garnishment rules) for potential amendment related to minimum wage implementation.
